Before the second distribution cheques can be sent out, we need:
1) Further direction from the Court about the mechanics of the second distribution, and
2) The CRA to return the taxes/EI/CPP contributions that had been paid on the uncashed first distribution cheques.
The above is important to ensure the accuracy of the second distribution and unfortunately will delay the distribution of the second cheques. Once we receive directions from the Court and the funds back from the CRA, we should be able to send the cheques out in the following three weeks. We expect that, if the court approves the proposed approach, all class members who cashed their first distribution cheques will receive more than originally projected for the second distribution.
We apologize for the delay, but this is necessary to distribute all the remaining settlement funds sooner and to avoid the need to do a third distribution in late 2024.
If you were expecting a first distribution cheque but did not receive one, please contact RicePoint immediately at 1-888-713-5220.
